Service Description

This program helps dog owners train their dogs in scent detection using essential oils, perfect for those wanting to engage their dogs mentally and physically while enhancing their focus and problem-solving skills. Participation is included in the TM Canine Community subscription: Membership Program ($14.99/month). Program Overview - 1. Frequency: Weekly training sessions 2. Duration: 60-90-minute lessons 3. Location: Different venues for in-person sessions (local parks, indoor training facilities) 4. Group Size: 2-8 participants per session to ensure personalized attention 5. Essential Oils Used: Birch, Clove, Anise, and more. A scent detection kit is included with the membership. Program Goals - 1. Beginner (Level 1) Focuses on introducing essential oil scents, scent recognition, indication (alerting), and basic search patterns. Training takes place in low-distraction environments (indoors or small spaces). Handlers will learn to read their dog’s behavior. Dogs stay at this level for 4-8 weeks. 2. Intermediate (Level 2) Builds on foundational skills with more complex searches (multiple rooms, outdoor areas) and distractions (food, noise, other dogs). Dogs develop scent discrimination and work on longer search times. Areas include cars, open fields, bags, and people. Duration: 6-12 weeks. 3. Advanced (Level 3) Dogs master scent detection in challenging environments (buildings, cars, crowds). Focus on advanced scent discrimination, timed searches, and moving targets. Handlers refine teamwork in more complex scenarios. Duration varies, with ongoing practice via workshops or competitions. Each level includes assessments and certificates, with progression based on the mastery of skills. How to Register - 1. For Membership: Sign up through the TM Canine Services app or website. 2. Organize Your Own Group: As we don’t host regular events yet, you can organize your own group of 3-6 participants to begin scent work lessons. Book your private group lesson, and we’ll help you get started!
