🐾 TM Canine Community Event – Monday, December 16th 🐾
Join us tomorrow at 6:00 PM in New Smyrna Beach for our final TM Canine Community event before Christmas! 🎄
We’ll be meeting at the New Smyrna Sports Complex off Turnbull Bay Road, near the New Smyrna Beach Garden Club, where we’ve done plenty of training before. (It has been lit up all last week when I’ve drove past at night!)
🌟 Focus for the Night: Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Skills 🌟
We’ll practice and refine the CGC tasks, and if anyone feels ready to certify, I’ll set aside some time to conduct the test. Everyone else can watch and learn what to work on.
If no one’s up for certifying, we’ll go over the 10 CGC tasks (listed below) and create scenarios tailored to what YOU and your dog need help with.
Canine Good Citizen Tasks:
1️⃣ Accepting a friendly stranger
2️⃣ Sitting politely for petting
3️⃣ Appearance and grooming
4️⃣ Walking on a loose leash
5️⃣ Walking through a crowd
6️⃣ Sit, down, and stay on command
7️⃣ Coming when called
8️⃣ Reaction to another dog
9️⃣ Reaction to distractions
🔟 Supervised separation
👉 Let me know in the comments which 1-2 tasks you’d like to focus on. We’ll work together as a group, supporting one another and staying engaged during each scenario. Let’s make this a focused and productive session!
