2. Obedience Oasis
Location: Central Park
Description: Central Park offers a serene setting for obedience training. Use the park's lake, pathways, viewing areas and open areas for leash training, basic commands, and reinforcing good behavior.
- Use the boats, canoes, kayaks and fishermen as distractions during your training.
- Total of four parks combined, making it 149.1 acres.
- There are two separate 0.6-mile loops, and one single 1.1-mile loop located in this park.
- There is an elevated boardwalk, a shell trail, basketball, and tennis court, and a playground for all types of exposure for your dog!
3. Distraction Drive
Location: Cassen Park
Description: Train in the commercial area at Cassen Park along Granada Boulevard, providing various distractions like traffic, pedestrians, and shops.
- This location is ideal for desensitizing dogs to urban stimuli and maintaining focus in bustling environments.
- Bait shops, boat ramps, fishing piers and cleaning stations can be found in this park and would be great places to practice obedience commands.
- Right Under the Granada Bridge, walking distance to many shops and restaurants.
4. Fearless Trail
Location: Bulow Creek State Park
Description: The trail at Bulow Creek State Park provides plenty of smells away from common disturbances.
- Perfect for working with dogs dealing with fear or anxiety, allowing them to build confidence in a controlled environment.
- 13.6-mile round trip, but you can park a car at both ends to shorten the trip!
- Park hours are 8:00 A.M. - Sunset.
- Fairchild Oak is located here, it is one of the oldest oak trees in our state.
5. Canine Confidence Corner
Location: Sanchez Park
Description: Explore the quiet residential area around Sanchez Park to build your dog's confidence in a calm environment.
- This area is suitable for shy or anxious dogs.
- 8.4 acres, right along the Tomoka river.
- This area has a very long fishing dock, walking trails, a playground and is connected to quiet neighborhood.
6. Recall Ridge
Location: Tomoka State Park
Description: The trails and open spaces at Tomoka State Park provide a scenic backdrop for recall training.
- Practice coming when called amidst the natural beauty, with various distances and distractions.
- Nature trails throughout the park to practice recall in numerous areas, with minimal distractions.
- Park Hours are 8:00 A.M. - sundown, 365 days a year. ($5 Per Vehicle)
- Hiking and biking Trails.
- Kayak rentals, and a great place to teach your dog to kayak with you.
7. Manners Meadow
Location: Haas Park
Description: The green space at Haas Park is a quiet meadow for reinforcing good manners and polite behavior.
- Ideal for practicing polite greetings with other dogs and people.
- 13-acre undeveloped park.
8. Behavior Beach
Location: Andy Romano Beachfront Park
Description: Andy Romano Beachfront Park is a designated dog-friendly park with play equipment.
- It's an ideal spot for dogs to burn off energy, socialize, and enjoy a playful atmosphere by the beach.
- Dogs are not allowed on the beach and must remained leash inside of the park.
- Splash pad inside of the park.
